Multi-Use Athletic Court Conversion
Project Scope
Medley Sports Construction completed a multipurpose court conversion at Lake Sumter State College’s South Lake Campus, transforming an existing surface into a dual-use pickleball and basketball court designed for long-term performance and versatility.
The project involved converting an existing court into a fully functional pickleball court while incorporating striping for both pickleball and basketball. This approach maximizes usability, allowing multiple sports to be played on a single surface without compromising play quality.
Description of Work
Our team handled all aspects of the project, including supplying materials, repairing cracks and low areas (birdbaths), applying a professional color coating system, and completing precise court striping. Fencing was also installed to enhance safety and define the playing area.
This project focused on revitalizing the existing track through professional surface repairs, custom color coating, and precision striping. Our team began by addressing cracks and surface inconsistencies, including birdbaths, to create a smooth and uniform foundation.
A Durable, Multi-Sport Athletic Surface
By upgrading the existing court into a multipurpose sports surface, Lake Sumter State College now has a modern recreational space that supports both pickleball and basketball. This type of court conversion is an efficient solution for schools and facilities looking to expand athletic offerings without requiring additional space.
The project was completed on time and within budget, delivering a high-quality court built for durability, consistent play, and everyday use.
