Shade structure installation.
Description of Work
We were contracted through Brassfield and Gorrie on several Encompass Health Rehabilitation Centers around the state of Florida to design/build a custom shade structure for the rehab courtyard patio area. The locations include Lakeland, St. Augustine, Cape Coral, Naples, Jacksonville and a couple more.
Shade Structure Installation
These new state-of-the-art healthcare centers focus on rehabilitation for many injuries and conditions. We provided a turnkey service for shading the courtyard of the hospitals.
Each is similar in design and location to provide less heat stress for outdoor rehabilitation. There are several shaded items for outdoor rehabilitation: wheelchair ADA ramps, handrails, stairs, and different types of pavements. These items help new patients to get comfortable within the “real world” prior to the rehabilitation process being completed.
The project included installing a cantilever shade structure over the newly existing concrete patio courtyard area. The project required us to excavate footers, supply, build and install specialty rebar cages, and supply and install anchor bolts. We then installed footings with concrete work as well as installed the shade structure.
We were happy to have the opportunity to work with Brasfield and Gorrie, helping to enhance the rehab patio courtyard area. We are proud to help keep the heat down for patients during their time at Encompass Health!
